Hello SCOR Families!
I hope you’ve all enjoyed the break over the last 6 weeks. It’s hard to believe that we start back up once we return to school after Christmas Vacation. I realize everyone’s time is short and valuable – but please allow a couple minutes to get through this email. There are some very important things I’d like to cover and will do my best to be brief.
1) The SCOR Winter Soccer Camp starts Saturday, January 12th. Please click Winter Camp Dates to find your player’s time. SCOR Winter Camp is not mandatory, but strongly encouraged. This is a great way for the team to work together before the spring season. The players will spend the 1st half working on technical and tactical skills and the 2nd half of each practice in a scrimmage, putting to use what they learned or worked on that day. 2) We need your help on the SCOR board and have a few positions open. SCOR Board Members receive player discounts for volunteering their time to SCOR. This club doesn’t run without your help and we have several opportunities for you to serve the children… the players in this club. Please call or email – myself or Pat for more information. We have the opportunities listed below. Kevin Butler – 635-3600. Pat Dalton – 292-5694
3) “Kicks for Kids” is a fundraising event I’d like help organizing during the SCOR Winter Camp. We all have soccer shoes and other equipment that is outgrown – but otherwise is in good enough shape for someone else to use. I could use 2-3 people willing to help collect and sort equipment and help re-sell it the last 2 weeks of camp. “Kicks for Kids” will take your donated equipment and make them available for sale for $5 during the last 2 weeks of camp. All money raised will go toward the Droge Scholarship Fund that subsidizes player fees for SCOR families that could use some help. We’ve never turned away a family that wanted to play soccer – but couldn’t afford to do it.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas with their family. We will have a reminder email for SCOR Camp right after the New Year. Please consider volunteering for SCOR and let us know if you have interest or know of someone that would do a great job filling a need.
