"Moves and Skills" is for the young and energetic future soccer star! This program provides the players a fantastic experience along with the needed fundamental skills to make the step to travel soccer is so desired.

What are the player age recommendations?

The Junior Academy program is designed for players between the ages of 4-8. No prior soccer experience is required.

What do players learn?

The Meulensteen Method's "Moves and Skills" curriculum ensures your child learns a new trick every practice and our small sided games allow for them to practice these tricks during "games".

What are small sized games?

These are soccer games with fewer players competing on a smaller sized field. These are fun games that involve the players more because fewer players are sharing one ball resulting in more touches. Each small sided game is designed to challenge the player skills and decision-making process.

How are the players placed for practices/games?

Players are placed based on age and skill level. Once placed the players will work with this group throughout the season. Some players do move to different field as we work to keep players skill levels in line with other players they are working with.

How many players are assigned to a field and how many coaches?

Each Junior Academy field averages between 8-10 players with at least one coach assigned to that field.

What equipment should each player bring to practice and games?

Size 3 soccer ball, cleats, shin guards, and a water bottle.

How long are practices?

Practices run between 45 minutes to an hour based on the age of the group

Can my player be on the same team as their friend?

In some cases, this can be accommodated but the SCOR-Meulensteen Junior Academy looks to place players where their ages and skills can grow.
