SCOR-Meulensteen is pleased to announce its new Goalkeeper Director, Josh Rumenapp. Coach Josh is entering his 2nd season with SCOR-Meulensteen.
As a player, Josh has been involved with soccer for nearly 25 years with the past 15 coming predominantly as a goalkeeper. Josh finished his high school career allowing fewer than 1 goal per game and saving over 90% of shots his senior season on his way to earning all-conference, region, area and state honors. He continued his playing career at Grace Bible College where he holds the all-time saves record with 861. Josh earned multiple team honors as well as All-Region and an All-American honor while playing at Grace.
After College Josh stepped away from competitive soccer and played recreationally until he earned a roster spot on the Muskegon Risers for their inaugural season. In late 2017 Josh played for Lansing City’s pro futsal team before a shoulder injury sidelined him. Currently Josh is participating in the tryout process for the local semi-pro arena team, the Great Lake Wanderers.
As a coach, Josh has served several years as a paid goalkeeper coach for Grace Bible College before moving into a volunteer position. In 2009 he was the head coach of Grace Bible College Women’s program and coached the girls to their first 10 win season and top 5 national ranking. Josh has also coached goalkeepers at multiple high schools on both the East and West sides of Michigan and has seen several of his keepers go on to win tournament, district, region, and state awards.
