Jesse Salazar

Coach Jesse presently lives in East Grand Rapids after moving from the west suburbs of Chicago to coach for SCOR in 2018. He started his career as a head coach in 2008, but has been assisting on various teams since the late '90s. Jesse coaches because he enjoys passing on to both boys and girls of all ages, the development of individual and group skills that have been taught to him over his 30 years of coaching and playing experience. He has played as almost every level from local youth leagues to professionally indoor.

Some of his highlights include starting in three National Championship tournaments for two different colleges and being a 1st team All American and leading his team in goals, while overcoming two ACL surgeries. As a coach, Coach Jesse is especially fond of helping underprivileged players.

When not on the pitch coaching, Jesse enjoys cooking and playing board games with friends, rock climbing, and traveling. Jesse is passionate about giving back and more, if possible, to the game that has provided him a lifetime of opportunities.

When asked if there was anything else, Jesse replied “I wouldn’t mind seeing the US win a World Cup!”
